Tamora Pierce is One of The Pixel Project’s “16 for 16” Honour Roll Call of Authors Who Support Stopping Violence Against Women

from the article: “The Pixel Project’s Read For Pixels campaign was first launched in September 2014 in recognition of the longstanding power of books to shape cultural ideas and influence the direction of history…. To date, 60 award-winning bestselling authors from genres as diverse as Science Fiction, Fantasy, Crime, Thrillers, and Horror have participated in various Read For Pixels campaigns and initiatives, raising more than $33,500 for the cause to end Violence Against Women to date.”

This year, the nonprofit honors sixteen authors, including Tammy. The others are: Alexandra Sokoloff, Christopher Golden, Claudia Gray, Colleen Gleason, Dan Wells, Darynda Jones, Gregg Hurowitz, Keri Arthur, Lauren Beukes, Laurie R. King, Max Gladstone, Meg Cabot, Nalini Singh, Steven Erikson, and Victoria (V.E.) Schwab.

Edwards Award acceptance speech from 2013, and the nine-part Supanova Sydney panel “Writer’s Roundtable – What Are You Reading Now?” featuring Tammy, Anne Bishop, Maria Lewis, Alison Goodman, Keri Arthur, and Ian Irvine, moderated by Supanova’s Literary Manager, Ineke Prochazka.

Future clips from panels, and other recordings of Tammy’s appearances, will appear as either Tim cuts them into something manageable, or other people ask that they be added….

 

Tamora Pierce is One of “Five Great Audiobooks Read by the Author”

Tammy’s in great company at No. 2 (The Immortals and Circle of Magic Quartets) narrating as the Full Cast Audio Family performs the characters’ dialogue (including Bruce Coville as Niklaren Goldeye and Tammy’s husband Tim as Dedicate Crane, among other roles!), with Neil Gaiman (Ocean at the End of the Lane) at No. 1 – and Jenny Lawson (Furiously Happy), the late Christopher Hitchens (Hitch-22), and Seamus Heaney’s translation of the Old English classic Beowulf also on the list.

Tamora Pierce in Sydney, Australia!

We made it! Tammy and her husband Tim landed in Sydney, Australia at 6:20 AM local time to attend Australia’s Supanova Pop Culture Expo this Friday – Sunday.

On the plane with her, and also attending Supanova, was Dark Fantasy author Anne Bishop (The Black Jewels, The Courtyards of the Others books), gaming composer/musician Michael Patti (Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void, Legend of Legends), VO performer Sean Schemmel (Goku in the US version of the Dragon Ball universe, the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe) , and actor/musician James Marsters (Spike from Buffy, The Vampire Slayer and Angel).
